Southern Connecticut State University honored its top scholars during the 2025 Senior Honors Convocation, held on May 4 in Lyman Center. The annual event recognized more than 200 students for exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and service across all academic colleges and disciplines.
The convocation included presentations of the prestigious Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award, departmental honors, and recognition from the Honors College and various university divisions. Faculty and administrators presented accolades for outstanding performance in disciplines ranging from psychology and sociology to marketing, education, and nursing.
“At Southern, we don’t just educate scholars—we empower leaders,” said Interim President Dwayne Smith. “You’ve earned your place here today through resilience, brilliance, and heart. And the impact you’ll make beyond these walls will be the true measure of your success.”
