On Saturday, Oct. 5, Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) hosted its annual Homecoming and Family Weekend, bringing together Owls and their families for a day of athletics, reunions, and celebrations.
Hundreds of attendees participated in a variety of activities, highlighted by a nail-biter finish in which SCSU football dropped a close game to Assumption.
“The schedule of events was wonderfully planned and executed, providing a perfect blend of tradition and innovation,” said Dr. Dwayne Smith, interim president. “The turnout was fantastic, and it was clear everyone had a wonderful time.”
On Friday night, donors were honored at the newly-opened Haven Beer Company in Hamden. Last year, donors awarded $200,000 in scholarships to 67 scholar-athletes.
Special thanks to the SCSU Office of Alumni Relations, Orientation, Transition and Family Engagement, and Student Affairs teams for organizing a fantastic lineup of events that captured the spirit and energy of our campus. We also extend our gratitude to the volunteers, students, faculty, and staff who helped make the weekend a success.
