Southern Connecticut State University will bring together educators, students, industry leaders, and community partners this fall for the 2026 Emerging Technologies Forum, a daylong event focused on the technologies and workforce needs shaping Connecticut’s future.
The forum will take place Friday, October 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 101 College Street in New Haven, placing participants in the heart of the city’s growing innovation ecosystem.
Organized by Southern’s Innovation Hub, the Emerging Technologies Forum will explore three rapidly growing sectors — quantum, artificial intelligence, and life sciences — while connecting those advances to education, workforce development, and career opportunities across Connecticut.
Throughout the day, participants will hear perspectives from experts in industry and education, learn about pathways into emerging technology careers, and take part in conversations about the impact of technologies such as quantum and AI on the state’s future.
A central goal of the forum is to strengthen connections among students, educators, community stakeholders, and industry professionals while building greater awareness of the educational and career pathways available in Connecticut. The event also aims to encourage collaboration around the workforce development needed to support the state’s expanding innovation economy.
The 2026 forum builds on the inaugural Emerging Technologies Forum held in November 2025. This year’s partners include BioCT, QuantumCT, the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system, and EdAdvance.
