Congratulations to Southern alumna Catherine Haase, M.A. ’18, Connecticut’s Council of Language Teachers (COLT) Language Teacher of 2024.
A dedicated Spanish teacher for 13 years in Torrington Public Schools, Haase is celebrated for her innovative teaching and strong advocacy for language learning. Known for creating a welcoming environment, she empowers students with language skills and cultural insights, blending social-emotional learning and climate activism into her curriculum.
She graduated in 2018 with a Master of Arts degree in Romance Languages and Literatures.
