Associate Professor of Communication, Media Studies, and Screen Studies KC Councilor appeared on WNPR’s “Where We Live” recently to discuss how comics have gone from being funny anecdotes to tackling serious content, with an explosion of more diverse stories.
A cartoonist himself, Councilor has published a memoir, Between You and Me: Transitional Comics (Drawbridge Press, 2017), and has contributed comics to anthologies such as Menopause: A Comic Treatment and made comics for academic journals such as Drawing the Body In: A Comic Essay on Trans Mobility and Materiality.
