New Business School Dean: “Never Conform”

School of Business Dean Jess Boronico, who arrived on campus this summer, was recently profiled in an article in Business New Haven, “New SCSU School of Business dean: ‘Never conform,'” where he discusses his belief in staying true to oneself and not judging people based on appearances.

In the article, Boronico explains why he never cut his “trademark long black hair,” in spite of often being mistaken for rock musicians like Alice Cooper and Gene Simmons: “‘I also believe that I am a source of inspiration to students because they do want to be themselves and know that they can be successful without conforming. I am a living example,'” he says.

Boronico began his new role in June and immediately began to help the School continue working towards its Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation.

“‘I want to establish the School of Business as a cornerstone of inspiration for others to aspire towards, integrating universal best practices into all that we do,'” Boronico says in the article.
