Southern Connecticut State University’s Connecticut Health, Athletic, and Mental Performance (CHAMP) Center is helping individuals take a more informed approach to their health and fitness.
Featured recently in CT Insider, the center offers advanced testing and personalized assessments—ranging from VO₂ max and DEXA scans to strength, balance, and performance analysis—to support both athletes and everyday individuals.
Since opening in 2024, CHAMP has combined faculty expertise, student involvement, and cutting-edge technology to provide data-driven insights that help clients improve performance and better understand their overall well-being. As CHAMP Director Dr. William Lunn, professor of exercise and sport science, noted, “We test sports performance measures for athletes, we do health and wellness measures for people who are not athletes to ensure health.”
