The women’s and men’s swimming and diving and track and field teams excelled at their respective recent Northeast-10 Conference Championships, with all four teams winning the championship titles and individual athletes also bringing home medals.
Women’s swimming and diving won the 2024 NE10 Conference Championship with a score of 1061.5, finishing ahead of Bentley (756.5) and Assumption (483). This win was the Owls’ fourth-straight NE10 Championship and 16th of all time, dating back to 2003. The Owls captured 29 medals, including nine individual championships, and broke the NE10 record in the 400 Medley Relay, as well as Hailey Nyquist’s 100 Backstroke record.

Men’s swimming and diving won the 2024 NE10 Conference Championship with a score of 901, finishing ahead of Bentley (673) and Adelphi (590.5). Dylan Prescher, who won three individual championships, was named the NE10 Most Outstanding Men’s Swimmer of the Meet.
This win was the Owls’ third-straight NE10 Championship and 16th of all time dating back to 2003. The Owls captured 23 medals, including six individual championships. With the women’s team also winning the 2024 championship, this marked the 13th year since 2003 in which Southern Connecticut swept the NE10 Championships.

In track and field, Southern’s women’s team won its first NE10 Indoor title since 2011 and fourth NE10 Indoor title in program history. The Owls finished the 2024 NE10 Indoor Championships with a total of 201.75 points and captured eight individual championships; nine silver medals, including two relay silver medals; and three bronze medals.

In addition to the women winning their fourth NE10 Indoor title in program history, the men also won their seventh-straight NE10 Indoor title and 18th title overall. The Owls finished the 2024 NE10 Indoor Championships with a total of 238 points, which is the most points totaled since 2020. Southern won their 12th straight indoor shot-put championship, recorded six individual championships, and won three gold medals in three different relays, seven silver medals, and six bronze medals.
