Breaking Barriers on the Field

Freshman Charliana Criscuolo, ’25, a nursing student, is breaking barriers in her role as Southern’s football team’s assistant wide receivers coach, as well as the team’s operations manager. She developed a passion for several sports as a team manager for those sports while in high school, and she’s brought that passion to her role with the Owls.

She is quoted in a recent story about her in CT Insider as saying, “It’s important for young women and young people to see you can do it, that there are different avenues. I’ve never stepped foot on a field and played but I’m figuring it out and I’m trying to coach in a different way, bringing a new coaching dynamic.”
