School of Business Adds Three to Advisory Council

School of Business Dean Jennifer Robin has announced the addition of three new members – Jerry Brennan, Franklyn D. Reynolds, and Lisa M. Todd – to the School’s Business Advisory Council (“the Council”).

“We’re thrilled to welcome these three members of the business community to our team,” said Dean Robin. “A core strength of our School of Business is the very strong ties we maintain with the individuals in the Greater New Haven business community,” she explained. “These connections provide us with invaluable input in preparing our graduates with the relevant and applicable knowledge and skill sets to meet the needs of the business community both today and tomorrow.“

SCSU alumnus Jerry Brennan (Economics, ’76) is the retired Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) at Kuhn Employment Opportunities in Meriden, where he currently serves as the organization’s Senior Consultant. As CFAO, Brennan led finance, accounting, human resources, and transportation operations for the $4.5 million organization.

Brennan helped establish Southern’s IMPACT Greater New Haven Nonprofit Internship program, which pairs SCSU business students with internships at local nonprofit organizations. According to Brennan, “This unique program provides life-changing internships to students and much-needed resources to our local nonprofits.”

Franklyn D. Reynolds was appointed President and CEO of UIL Holdings Corporation in October of 2020. In this role, he oversees the electricity and natural gas operating companies of Avangrid Networks in Connecticut and Massachusetts. These include United Illuminating of Connecticut, Southern Connecticut Gas, Connecticut Natural Gas, and Berkshire Gas of Massachusetts.

A 26-year veteran of the utility industry, Reynolds previously served as Vice President of Gas Integration for Avangrid Networks, in which capacity he led the restructuring of the Gas Operations and Gas Engineering lines of business. He was President of Berkshire Gas from 2019 to 2020.

Lisa M. Todd is Director and Senior Vice President at Webster Bank (CT), where she is head of marketing and treasury and derivatives sales for Commercial Banking. With more than 25 years of commercial experience, Todd currently leads the marketing function focused on the bank’s commercial loan capabilities as well as the acceleration of growth for its treasury, derivatives, and payments services line of business.

Todd is an active volunteer at both Webster Bank and in her community. She currently leads the “work-life” pillar of Webster’s “WeWin” women’s affinity group. A huge fan of enabling and coaching the career development of women, she has held similar DEI leadership positions at both Capital One and GE Capital.

The SCSU School of Business Advisory Council’s mission is for its members to serve as school ambassadors and to provide external perspectives and connections, as well as advocacy and support for the school’s programs and strategic initiatives.
