With Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement making national headlines, Southern Connecticut State University’s Dr. Sara Baker Bailey, professor of communication, was featured in CT Insider, WFSB and the Today Show as an expert voice on Swift’s cultural influence and fandom.
Bailey, who occasionally teaches a Taylor Swift-themed course, provided insight into the significance of the announcement and Swift’s strategic storytelling style.

Bailey explained that Swift’s ability to weave personal milestones, public identity, and creative “Easter eggs” into her narrative fuels deep connections with fans and drives ongoing cultural conversations.
