Physics Professor Dana Casetti was recently recognized in international media for her incredible career in astronomy and physics.
In a two-part interview series, the Romanian news outlet TVR Pagina Oficiala asked Casetti about her research, accomplishments, and work at Southern — highlighting her mentorship of students throughout their studies.
When asked what advice she would give to young people with a dream of pursuing a research career with global impact, Casetti replied, “There is truly joy and continual wonder before the mysteries of nature when you have succeeded in touching something with your human understanding; however, it takes a level of dedication that few have. Casetti’s research interests include astrophysics, astronomy, large surveys, image processing in astronomy, and the study of the Milky Way structure and formation.
