Owls are the champions — again!
The SCSU women’s and men’s track and field teams won their respective Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Championships on Jess Dow Field on May 4, 2024. For the men, it was their eighth consecutive NE10 title and 20th all-time, as the Owls’ amassed 286.5 points. For the women, it was their first title since 2015 and sixth NE10 title overall. The Owls finished with a total of 240 points over the two days of competition.
Southern’s is the first program in NE10 history to sweep the men’s and women’s cross country and indoor and outdoor track championships in one academic year.
In addition, the Owls’ indoor and outdoor track & field titles for both genders make it the fourth time in NE10 history that one school won both titles in the same year, as Southern accomplished the feat the other three times.
