Record-breaking Jordan Davis Named National Athlete of the Week

Southern Connecticut State University men’s track & field senior standout Jordan Davis was named the M-F Athletic Division II National Athlete of the Week, as announced by the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) on Tuesday, Apr. 2, 2024. Davis is the first recipient of the honor in SCSU history.

Davis also broke the NCAA Division II national record in the javelin throw at the Texas Relays over the weekend, becoming the fifth best performer in collegiate history.

His latest honor adds to a long list of accolades. A two-time NCAA Division II All-American, and three-time qualifier, Davis captured the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship. Last season, he won his third-straight NE10 and New England Championships on his way to be named the NE10 Field Athlete of the Year and the USTFCCCA East Region Field Athlete of the Year. He also holds the SCSU, NE10 and NEICAAA record in the javelin.

Davis was also named NE10 Male Field Athlete of the Week.
