Sergeant Cynthia Torres and K9 Officer Jules (far right) of the Southern Police Department appeared on the sidelines at the Eagles-Giants game on Sunday, Dec. 4 at MetLife Stadium, representing the Puppies Behind Bars program that brought Jules to Southern.
Puppies Behind Bars trains incarcerated individuals to raise service dogs for wounded war veterans and first responders, facility dogs for police depts., and explosive detection canines for law enforcement.
While his primary job is assisting in officer wellness, K9 Officer Jules serves as a community liaison and comfort dog, helping to provide a calming presence to those experiencing emotional distress on campus.
