When it was revealed actress Jenna Ortega filmed an iconic scene from the hit Netflix series Wednesday while awaiting a positive COVID test, conversations online turned to the toxicity of grind culture.
Dr. Michele Vancour, executive director of healthcare programs at the College of Health and Human Services, appeared on Good Morning America on Thursday, Dec. 8 to discuss the controversy and the implications of putting work before health.
Vancour is a consultant and speaker on issues of work and family/life integration, leadership, career advancement, breastfeeding and lactation support initiatives.
“If you look at the definition of grind and hustle, it’s telling you there is no room in your life for that because it is all-consuming,” said Vancour.
