In a recent interview with the New Haven Independent, SCSU Mathematics Professor Andrew Bartlett discussed his love for math and his participation in a Mathematical Puzzle Programs (MaPP) competition for high school students. The competition took place on campus during Southern’s spring break.
Bartlett, who started at Southern two years ago, is teaching data science, statistics, and Calculus 1Â courses this semester.
The high school students, from Hamden and New Haven, were engaged with Bartlett in escape-room-style math puzzles. Upon answering several geometry and linear algebra equations, the students could move around to different areas of the campus.
